ONE TAP · NO STICK

ONE-BUTTON IPHONE GAMES.

The whole control scheme is a thumb. If the game needs two hands, it left this list.

A one-button iPhone game uses a single tap as the only real control. No joystick. No dual analog. Timing is the skill. Famous examples: Flappy Bird, Stack, Piano Tiles, Helix Jump, Color Switch. Pickle Drop is one: tap when the pickle is in the catch zone.

Why one button works on a phone

A phone is already in one hand. Extra on-screen sticks eat the picture and fight your palm. One-button arcade keeps the screen for the joke and the timing window. You can play standing on a train without inventing a claw grip.

Examples of the type

GameThe one tap does this
Flappy BirdFlap. Gravity does the rest.
StackLock the moving block.
Piano TilesHit the tile in time.
Helix JumpSpin / drop through gaps as you fall.
Color SwitchChange color before a gate.
Doodle JumpTilt plus tap extras; still a one-hand arcade cousin.
Pickle DropCatch the falling pickle in the green zone.

If a game asks you to aim a stick, build a base, or manage six abilities, it is not a one-button game. It can still be casual. Different shelf.

How Pickle Drop uses the tap

Start with DROP IT. Watch the fall. The green zone is the whole button. Tap inside it and you catch. Tap early and you miss. Wait and you splat. Later drops hesitate or surge so the same tap still takes nerve. That is the entire input map.
